SouthPoint Bank Names Executive Vice President
& Real Estate Manager

Birmingham, AL (December 5, 2005) SouthPoint Bank (www.southpointbanking.com) has hired Gerald E. Giattina as executive vice president in charge of real estate lending. Giattina will be a member of SouthPoint’s management committee and will be responsible for residential construction lending as well as income property lending to builders and developers.

Giattina comes to SouthPoint Bank with more than 34 years experience in real estate lending. Most recently Giattina served as senior vice president and manager of the Residential Construction Lending Department of First American Bank (formerly National Bank of Commerce). Giattina also served as corporate head of the Residential Construction Line of business for AmSouth Bank. He also served as assistant treasurer in the Investment Division of Liberty National Life Insurance Company. Giattina is a graduate of the University of Alabama .
